Practicum

English in Action Speaking (EAS)

The EAS class was designed for undergraduate students in Sookmyung Women's university. 6 graduate students in TESOL MA program in the same university took turns in teaching the students for their last semester practicum. Each teaching group consisted of two members collaborating in making lesson plans and materials.

The course provided the students many opportunities to practice the language in the real world environment. The language functions and themes were established based on the students' needs and interests.

As a member of the teaching group 3, my partner and I were in charge of teaching in week 3, 6, 9, and 12 in the spring semester, 2017. To see the lesson plans and assignments we have created for the class, click the icons below. You can also see my reflections of the teaching weeks.

Action Research (AR)

In the EAS class, the action research was conducted for five weeks. The aim of the research was to see how the intervention plans; modeling, simple PPT, and comprehension check regarding instructions were effective in the university speaking class. The intervention plans were established for clear and effective instructions to enhance students' comprehensibility in class. To see the report of AR, click the icon below.
